What to see in Indianapolis
Visitors to Indy need to spend time downtown.  Monument Circle, at the intersection of Meridian and Market Street, is the most identifiable Indianapolis structure.  Each Thanksgiving crowds gather downtown to see the monument lit for the holiday season.  Within five blocks is War Memorial Plaza, a park dedicated to Indianapolis soldiers killed in the first World War.  Surprisingly, Indy boasts the second most national monuments inside city limits, trailing only behind the nation's capitol.  Catch a Colts or Pacers game downtown for your sporting fix.  Also of note in the area are the NCAA Hall of Champions, White River State Park, and Circle Center Mall. 

No visit to Indianapolis would be complete without a trip out to the speedway.  The racing complex hosts the Motor Speedway Hall of Fame which houses the world's most diverse collection of racing, classic, and antique automobiles.  The Indianapolis Zoo gives an entertaining dolphin show and showcases over 350 species.  Another crowd pleaser is the Children's Museum, one of the most popular attractions in Indy.  It is the largest kid's museum in the world with hundreds of hands-on exhibits--adults and children alike will enjoy spending the day here. 

For more unique, off the beaten path shopping and dining head to Broadripple.  Enjoy outdoor dining, jogging trails, or late night clubs in this upscale neighborhood just 20 minutes north of downtown.  Other shopping opportunities include Greenwood Park Mall, The Fashion Mall, and Fountain Square.
