Free Shipping Coupon App for the iPhone

Commerce over mobile devices, such as iPhones and the iPod Touch, is booming in the United States. With this in mind, FreeShipping.org has introduced an iPhone application that allows users to find coupon codes for online shopping and make purchases off their iPhone.

The Free Shipping Coupons app, which is free and available at the iPhone App Store, is also ideal to conduct a price comparison and see if you can get a better deal online versus an in-store purchase.

The free shipping app features coupon codes for price discounts as well as free shipping deals from participating merchants. Users can search by store or category.

This is a great companion to the Coupon Sherpa iPhone application that has in-store coupons to 100+ stores. Coupon Sherpa is also free to download in the app store.

My Bargain Shopping Interview

This week, I answered a few questions for a reporter who was doing a story about bargain shopping. Below are some of the questions and answers from that interview.

Whats the appeal behind bargain shopping?
With the slow economy and high gas prices it's becoming more of a necessity to find a good deal. Although trying to find a bargain is in our blood. I think we're wired for it.

What is your top advice for consumers looking to find the best bargains without wasting a lot of time comparison shopping?
Shoppers looking to find a good deal should shop online. You can usually find much better deals online than you can at malls. Add in free shipping or a coupon code and the savings quickly add up.

More...Why is it so important to shop around for the best deals during the holidays?
Retailers have amazing sales during the holidays, so spending the extra time to shop around can be well worth it. Use a comparison shopping site to find the retailer with the best price. Then visit a coupon site like www.freeshipping.org to find a coupon code for the retailer you want to purchase from.

When it is okay to NOT pinch pennies? Why?
Don't pinch pennies by purchasing items from stores you don't trust or know very little about. This is especially true when it comes to luxury items and prescription drugs. You may end up buying a fake handbag or some bad medication. Always shop at trustworthy and reliable merchants, even if it means paying a bit more.
